The latest addition to the e-coupon arena is MoneySaver Vouchers, a location-based iPhone app and mobile site offering access to hundreds of local business vouchers.

Long-established coupon provider MoneySaver has launched MoneySaver Vouchers, a location-based consumer deals iPhone app.  The app boasts vouchers from hundreds of businesses across thousands of locations Australia-wide, and new vouchers from new businesses are being added everyday.

MoneySaver Vouchers is available as a free download on the iTunes app store or through www.moneysavervouchers.com.au. It allows users to search for vouchers by category or keyword. Using iPhone’s built in GPS, the app allows users to locate nearby deals through Google Maps, across categories including: food, hair and beauty, automotive, fashion, convenience, leisure, travel and more.

At a time when the Australian – and global – consumer’s purchasing habits are evolving, MoneySaver Vouchers promises to offer the value of group-buying, the convenience of local area offers and the instantaneousness of vouchers.

“One in three smartphone users are now being directed to local businesses through their mobile phones,” says Paul Lidgerwood, Managing Director of Niche Media, MoneySaver’s parent company. “By 2013 it is predicted the internet usage on mobile phones will surpass that of PCs. It only makes sense to give users an option to find the saving they want, when and where they want it – wallet in hand.”

Coinciding with the launch of MoneySaver Vouchers, a mobile site has launched giving the full functionality of the app to non-iPhone users – including the full suite of geolocated deals. MoneySaver’s website has also been redesigned allowing visitors to access the offers from personal computers and laptops. “Niche Media has seen digital open new markets and audiences across its print publications, so taking MoneySaver into the space was a logical extension for this trusted consumer brand,” said Liana Pappas, Digital Manager at Niche Media.
